Doric column The Doric column is a classical architectural element from ancient Greece and represents the Doric order, one of the five orders of classical architecture. It is characterised by a simple semicircular capital at its top. The column typically rests directly on the stylobate of the temple without a base. Ebonised Doric columns are often used as design features on early architectural clock cases.
