Gadrooning Gadrooning is a Renaissance-era geometric design motif that was used to great effect by English silversmiths from around 1550 onwards. It is a series of joined convex flutes and curves and is still used on furniture and in decorative arts. Clockmaker Robert Harvey was known for decorating the brass centre disks of his lantern clocks with engraved gadroons.
