Integral pillar Integral pillar is the term for when the pillar, finial and foot have been cast as one continuous piece. Horologist Brian Loomes observes that these appear on the brass cases of almost all surviving Bristol lantern clocks, such as the Anonymous Bristol Lantern clock, made around 1680 (coming soon to Clocktime), but they are not seen on London-made lantern clocks.
