Minerva Minerva is the Roman goddess of wisdom, justice, law and victory. She also represents and supports the technical arts and trade. Her Greek equivalent is Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom, war and technical arts who was the protrectress and patron of the ancient city of Athens. Minerva was sometimes represented in the decoration of early clocks; for an example, see the Minerva figurine surmounting the Minerva Fromanteel Bracket Clock, made around 1664.
