Zodiac In astrology, the zodiac is an area of the night sky that extends 8° north or south of the ecliptic (the plane of the earth’s orbit around the sun). It includes all apparent positions of the sun, the moon, and the most familiar planets and is divided into twelve equal divisions: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces. The zodiac is often represented on astrological clocks and watches, for example the King James Portrait Watch made around 1618 by David Ramsay.
