Earliest English pendulum clock with a fusee Around 1657, pioneering master clockmaker Ahasuerus Fromanteel manufactured the clock known as the Denton Hall Fromanteel, using Christiaan Huygens' pendulum technology. It is probably the oldest surviving English pendulum spring clock with a fusee. The use of a fusee improved the timekeeping of a clock by equalising the uneven pull of the mainspring as it ran down.
