Huygens publishes Horologium Oscillatorium In 1673, Dutch mathematician and physicist Christiaan Huygens published Horologium Oscillatorium: Sive de motu pendulorum ad horologia aptato demonstrationes geometricae [The Pendulum Clock: Or geometrical demonstrations concerning the motion of pendula as applied to clocks, his major work on the theory and design of pendulum clocks.
