A message from Clocktime's creator Good morning It’s been an exceptionally busy summer because I’ve officially downsized. I’ve moved from Arragon Mooar, where I housed my collection of clocks and watches. It was always a great pleasure to invite friends, societies and groups to see the timekeepers in their purpose-built rooms. The clock collection remains, albeit in smaller surroundings. I’m most grateful to my clock technician, Carl Albrigt, for the herculean job he performed in carefully moving the pieces. The smooth logistics were a massive team effort, with so many to thank, not least my daughter Laura. Not only did she mastermind the planning and execution, she also designed a nature garden for the new home. This now features my favourite sundial, crafted by Joanna Migdal. The clocks go back when British Summer Time ends on Sunday 26 October in the UK. One clever feature of the Clocktime Digital Museum is every clock and watch displayed automatically changes to local time, wherever the website viewer is based. The sensation of adjusting an old mechanical clock reminds us that every mechanism is different and needs tender care. I’m glad there’s a team of people around to help make the adjustments, so clocks will be ticking on time in perfect synchrony well before dusk on the first darker-than-usual evening.
