A message from Clocktime's creator Good morning I trust all is well and you are enjoying more sunshine as the days become longer. Recently I welcomed Anna Rolls, Curator and Andrew Canter, Chair of the Collection Committee from the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers and Clockmakers’ Museum (pictured above) to see my collection at Arragon Mooar. Their enthusiasm for clocks and watches is infectious and their broad knowledge extremely impressive. Sunny days make me think of Joanna Migdal and her wonderful sundials, one of which is positioned in my garden. It’s International Women’s Day on Saturday 8th March and who better to highlight than such a truly creative contemporary sculptor, designer and engraver with well-deserved global recognition. In addition, the Clocktime curator Kristin Leith has discovered a prolific collector and horologist called Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach who donated 270 pocket watches and clocks to the Clock Museum in Vienna. Discover more below. You might have spotted a Harrison clock in the above photo and his achievements will be celebrated in depth over the next year in the run up to the 250th anniversary of his death. There’s more to read about that too in this edition. Thanks for your interest and wishing you an enjoyable spring season! Dr John C Taylor OBE FREng
