New About Time book! Given the concerns about the growing number of young people who have difficulty telling the time, it’s heartening news to learn that three expert communicators have come together to address the issue. Horologist Rebecca Struthers, science teacher Alom Shaha and illustrator Lucy Rose have joined forces to produce a delightful, informative and reader-friendly book to engage all readers aged seven and over. This new hardback book, About Time, makes the subject of horology accessible to all, showing readers how clocks work and what time is all about. The book encourages learning through play, showing how to make a sundial, water clock and even a sand timer. Calendars, complications and escapements are explained while entertaining the reader. Most importantly for those working in the world of clocks and watches, contemporary artisans from around the world are highlighted, demonstrating career pathways. The art-deco themed illustrations are spectacular, printed in vintage colours, giving a nostalgic feel yet conveying important educational messages for both today’s and future generations. We congratulate the creators on producing a book that deserves huge recognition. The 80-page-long About Time book is published in the UK on 28th August 2025, at £14.99 and in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand on 2nd September.
