Take your time - Archibald Knox exhibition Given its small size, the Isle of Man punches above its weight in terms of clock and watchmaking heritage. If you’re lucky enough to visit the island before 1 March 2026, do pop in to the Manx Museum in Douglas to see the world’s largest collection of works by Archibald Knox. He was born on the Island in 1864 and sketched and painted for pleasure. He is famed for his Silver Studio and Liberty & Co Clocks, for the Tudric (pewter) and Cymric (precious metals) ranges. He was a master of metalwork, jewellery, ceramics, fabrics and lettering design. His metalwork in the ‘British Celtic Revival’ design style embraced Arts and Crafts, British Art Nouveau and Modernism. KNOX: Order and Beauty runs at the Manx Museum, open daily from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The exhibition is free, although a £10 donation to Manx National Heritage is suggested.
